Technology is an attribute when it comes to staffing needs. I think that the "Text a Nurse" concept is great but may be a little tedious. In my facility we have a system called "Shiftwise." It is a huge database of hundreds of agencies in the State of Ohio. All of the background checks and competency have been performed for you. You enter your need and watch for takers. We try to refrain from agency use but it is an awesome tool when we do need supplemental staffing.
